Ed Bott - Windows 10 Support Secrets
82 CHAPTER 6 | Taking charge of hardware Figure 6-4: On a Windows 10 PC that is configured with a wireless network adapter, you can choose to allow other Windows 10 devices to project content to the current screen. Like any other networking feature, the settings here are designed to give you control over security. You wouldn’t, after all, want a complete stranger to be able to push content to your display, would you? You can require a secure network, show a consent prompt before allowing a connection, add a PIN, and (as a power-saving measure) restrict projection to when the PC is plugged in. With that setup out of the way, you can project to that PC from another Windows 10 device by using the Connect button in Action Center or by pressing Windows key+P and then clicking Connect To A Wireless Display. Figure 6-5 shows a connection in progress. Figure 6-5: If the device to which you’re trying to project is configured so that it requires a PIN, you can type it here.
